Privacy policy

SellerSuggest is run by SellerSuggest ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@sellersuggest.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your account: name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
• Your eBay data, once you connect eBay: encrypted eBay access tokens, your eBay username, your active listings (titles, descriptions, prices, item specifics, photos links), your orders (items, prices, postage, eBay fees, payment and dispatch status), listing traffic statistics such as impressions, views and where views came from, and, if you grant access, promoted listing results and fee and payout data.
• Your activity: Listing Doctor proposals, which ones you approved or rejected, and the changes we made to eBay on your behalf.
• Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, never your card details.

Your buyers' data

To show order details and print invoices and packing slips, we store each buyer's eBay username, name, delivery address and phone number as eBay provides them on the order. For this data you (the seller) are the controller and we process it on your behalf.

• Buyer names, usernames, addresses and phone numbers are deleted automatically 90 days after each order.
• To count new and returning buyers, we keep a one-way anonymised code per buyer, unique to your account. It can't be turned back into a name and can't be matched across sellers.
• If a buyer closes their eBay account, eBay notifies us and we delete their details, including the anonymised code, straight away.
• We don't store buyer email addresses or payment details, and never contact your buyers.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you signed up for: reports, diagnoses, digests and listing updates you approve (performing our contract with you).
• To send service emails such as digests and password resets (contract), which you can switch off in Settings, except security emails.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems (legitimate interests).
• To meet tax and accounting obligations for paid subscriptions (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

Only the providers needed to run the service, each under a data processing agreement:

• Cloudflare: hosting and database.
• Anthropic: AI processing. A listing's text and statistics are sent only when you run the Listing Doctor on that listing, and are not used to train AI models.
• Resend: sending emails.
• Stripe: payments.
• eBay: when you approve a change, we send it to eBay to update your listing.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, under UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

• Disconnecting eBay in Settings immediately deletes your eBay tokens and all imported eBay data, including your buyers' details.
• Buyer personal details: 90 days after each order (see above). Listing traffic history: up to two years, as weekly snapshots.
• If you close your eBay account, eBay notifies us and we delete the same data automatically.
• If you ask us to delete your SellerSuggest account, we delete it within 30 days, apart from billing records we must keep for tax purposes (usually six years).

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@sellersuggest.co.uk. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
